The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. — Psalm 24:1

We are committed to caring for Earth and encourage others to join us in being good stewards. Here's some of what we do as an Earth Care Congregation:
  • Deepen our connection with Creation through group walks and kayaking in local nature preserves.
  • Write local government officials to support natural land purchase and preservation
  • Learn about nature and nature restoration on naturalist-guided tours.
  • Hold an annual Easter Sunrise Service in Palma Sola Botanical Park.
  • Devote worship hymns, prayers, readings and sermons to earth care.
  • Use only reusable cups, plates, bowls, flatware and tablecloths, not disposable plastic.
  • Recycle glass, aluminum, plastic and paper.
  • Purchase certified sustainably-sourced paper products.
  • Use diluted industrial-strength vinegar in place of commercial herbicide.
  • Maintain a butterfly garden and regularly plant native plants to support wildlife.
  • Educate about native plants, forest preservation, home energy conservation, eating to reduce carbon footprint, and more.
  • Share our facilities with non-profits and small businesses because underutilized buildings waste energy.
  • Utilize high-efficiency LED lighting and AC units.
  • Installed a high Solar Reflectance Index (SRI 24) roof to reduce energy use.
  • Work towards reducing our carbon footprint 25% between mid 2022 and mid 2026 to meet PC(USA)'s pledge.

There’s more to do…and now is the time to act!
